Katie has Public Liability Insurance as an aerialist, stilt walker and entertainer.
Below is some general information about the technical requirements of aerial acts and stilt walking. Please get in touch for more detailed technical information regarding your event.
Aerial acts can either be rigged from a venue's existing infrastructure, or the hire of a freestanding rig may be required. Please find below some basic information about our rigging requirements. More specific technical requirements are available upon request, and risk assessments are tailored to each location and event.
Solo or synchronised acts:
One rigging point per performer which has been load tested to minimum 500kg
minimum height 4.5m (between the rigging point and the ground / stage)
minimum clear space surrounding the silks from top to bottom 3m diameter
HOOP or SLINGS or DANCE TRAPEZE
minimum height 3m (between the rigging point and the ground / stage)
minimum clear space surrounding point 4m diameter
Duo acts (two performers on one piece of equipment):
One point load tested to minimum 1 tonne
minimum height 6m (between rigging point and ground / stage)
minimum clear area of 4.5m diameter from ground / stage level to 5m
minimum height 4m (between rigging point and ground / stage)
minimum clear area of 2.5m diameter from ground level to 3.7m above ground / stage level
minimum height 3.5m (between rigging point and ground / stage)
minimum clear space surrounding hoop 3m diameter
- Rigging points should be clear of sharp or hot objects, electricity cables and gas pipes.
- Access to the rigging points should be provided by venue's / client's ladder, cherry picker or overhead walkways.
- We can provide a rigger where required.
- Performances above 10m height require us to wear a safety line / harness.
A clean, dry, warm dressing room with clear access to the performance area (avoiding steps, lifts are fine).
A strong table / work surface to sit on whilst putting on stilts.
Event staff present to ensure safety of performers.
Minimum height ceiling 2.5m.
