Katie Hardwick - Circus Artist
Katie began her performing career at the age of 14, when she and her aerial partner took a synchronised silks act to the Glastonbury Festival Circus Big Top. Katie and Leyla had met at The National Centre for Circus Arts (formerly Circus Space) aged 8, where they continue to train.
Katie has built up a varied career in international live events, screen projects, motion capture, modelling, acting and circus consultancy. Her work has taken her around the globe, in front of royalty and within acclaimed companies.
Katie studied English with Creative Writing at Falmouth University, Acting with City Academy and storytelling with Charlotte Mooney.
She is a teacher at the National Centre for Circus Arts, has taught celebrities, actors, dancers, outreach projects and led her own circus school for seven years.
Katie has performed in a variety of exciting situations, including a grand dance number on The Brit Awards and Strictly Come Dancing, at a birthday party for a real princess, by a beach in Thailand, from a crane over the sea (twice!), in the legendary Camden Roundhouse, captured in Italian Vogue, swinging on a trapeze with fireworks, and is a regular performer for aerial company Viva, as seen on the BBC red silks ident.
Always developing acts, gaining knowledge about the body, working on new creative ideas and learning from each job, Katie is keen to find new adventures, challenges and collaborations.
