Leyla and I opened the Aalco Sales Awards dinner at the Westminster Park Plaza Hotel, with our sensual, high energy Aerial Sphere act. Working with Black Fire Agency, FDG Creative and Bedrock Creative, we rigged our unique aerial sphere and two red silks for the circus themed event. Following the meal, we closed the dining section of the awards evening with a ten minute long ambient silks set, before a live band played to guests on the dance floor. Our Sphere act, filmed by
Last week I returned to the Bridlington Spa - the theatre with the best sea views from the dressing rooms! This visit was with Leyla to perform our Starfiz Synchronised Silks duet act, at the DIVA dance competition's 10th anniversary. CWR Events put on a spectacular Greatest Showman themed finale, incorporating dancers, Billy George on cyr wheel, and Starfiz on silks. Leyla and I performed a silks act in gold catsuits, choreographed to become a part of the larger stage show.
Leyla and I travelled to the Echo Arena Liverpool with Livestock Productions, to bring some aerial glamour to the BBC Worldwide Showcase 2016. For the final evening of the event, we performed freestyle aerial hoop as guests entered the drinks reception. Claudine from Livestock Productions paired us with the beautiful voice of singer Sewuese, and her band, to create a sultry 1920s mood where the entertainment worked as a whole to welcome to the guests into a scene from the twe
Late last year, Leyla and I performed our Aerial Sphere act at the wonderful Secret Winter Gala, with the event raising over £1million for charity, Save the Children. Les Enfants Terribles recreated scenes from Alice's Adventures Underground (Vaults, Waterloo) in the beautiful Guildhall venue in London. Leyla and I were made to look like the same person - Alice in Wonderland - with the help of wigs, matching costumes and makeup. We stood behind mirrors and interacted with gue
Leyla and I performed our Aerial Sphere act in the Grand Spiegeltent at Wilderness Festival! The wooden and mirrored tent was a magical venue and we really felt excited to be a part of such a great variety of arts entertainment on offer at the Oxfordshire festival. Bjork headlined, Rambert danced, Opera North sang, Divine Company glittered, Shotgun Carousel intrigued, Gorilla Circus flew and I discovered a woman I should have seen many years ago - Camille O'Sullivan. She was
Petersham Road created one of the most decadent 18th birthday parties I've seen, at Hoxton Docks, for one very lucky teenager! The former industrial space was transformed into a 1920s speakeasy, with guests slipping through secret curtains to enter into a forbidden world of jazz bands, cocktails, gambling and dancing. As the guests stepped into the grounds of the warehouses, behind Kingsland Road, Leyla and myself performed ambient aerial hoop as glamorous circus performers,
Starfiz have been busy shooting the Brighton Festival 2015 promotional video, taking our aerial sphere to Brighton Dome for a day full of spinning, projection screens and leaps. We can't wait to see how the video turns out, and to share what the team has created! Directed by Leonora Lonsdale. UPDATE Here is the finished Brighton Festival 2015 Trailer And an interview with Leonora about the making of the film Special thanks to our former aerial teacher Clare Anderson for riggi
Leyla and I went to Blackpool at the weekend to take part in Showzam, a festival which returns to the famous seaside town each February. This year the festival theme was circus and performance, so we got to see a few friends up there as well as the chance to perform in the beautiful Blackpool Tower Ballroom. 'Expect a night of fabulous performances from some of the world's unusual, exotic and glamorous artists in the opulent and delicious Blackpool Tower Ballroom.' Starfiz op
